Traditional and Contemporary African Music and dance.

With their name taken from the famous West African talking drum this group embodies everything you would expect from an experienced African dance band.

Formed by Kudaushe Matimba and Anna Mudeka, Tama combine rhythms from Zimbabwe, Malawi, Columbia/Cuba, Ghana, and Ivory Coast, as they bring a spectacular celebration of music and dance blending traditional and modern styles. Their music is a journey that revels the joys of life through traditional and contemporary African song and dance.

Tama is fronted by the Zimbabwean singer and dancer Anna Mudeka who has been causing a riot of colour and movement in the UK, Europe and Asia last year.
Anna, despite her tender years has toured and recorded 4 albums and is well known on the world music circuit. Her dancing and haunting vocals combined with TAMA’S upbeat and infectious rhythms will leave you shouting for more as you will never have enough of their music.

Having recently played at the queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Pestillozzi festival in Hastings, Zimbabwe festival in London and WOMAD Singapore 2005, this lineup has already had people talking about their sheer musicality and energy on stage.

Line up includes;
Anna Mudeka: main vocals, dance and mbira (Zimbabwe)
