New Orleans and Chicago Blues
Bandleader, bassist, vocalist and arranger, Jerome Rimson (the Detroit Hit Man) has had the honour of performing with many of the best known artists in world of music. Recording classic albums with Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, Eddie Cleanhead Vincent and the late great Muddy Waters, the Hitman also recorded with modern blues giants Steve Winwood & Van Morrisson, rock legends Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Phil Lynott, Ginger Baker, Alvin Lee and jazz artists Al Jarreau & Al Di Mieola and not forgetting The Detroit Emeralds where it all started.
An experienced musician such as Jerome Rimson would inevitably attract the highest quality musicians around him to form his band. In his band Bad Boy Blues, formed around 2013, those musicians are: Pierre Morrissey a truly talented guitarist and great vocalist with the 'real sound' of the Blues coursing through the blood in his veins. Together with Andrea Bonino on harmonica and John Quirke on drum kit, Jerome formed a quartet dedicated to delivering a proper blues session. Playing the music of Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, BB King, Rory Gallagher, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix...
Andrea Bonino (below right) is a multi-talented musician and features mainly on Harmonica but is also an accomplished Lap-steel guitarist, Adrea is himself something of an expert on blues history, Andrea also builds fantastic instruments himself. Originally from Pisa in Italy Andrea plays like he was born in Chicago.
Drummer John Quirke (above centre) comes from the Limerick area and has worked in several bands including The Red Herrings & The Hot guitars to name just a couple. John is the engine that drive's Bad Boy Blues solid backbeat and his excellent timing allows the band to explore without fear because they know John will always be there as the foundation.
