Formed in
early 2008 Song of the Nations includes an international line-up of seasoned
musicians from Cork City’s deep pool of talented international musicians.
Playing a
fusion of ‘World’ Jazz and Folk music they have just recorded their first
album for release in early 2009. Song of the Nations first played at Cork
City’s FeileAfrica festival of African music and culture in May 2008 and
have since played at many venues around Ireland
With
musicians ‘cherry picked’ from ensembles like Tokatynga, The Blue Sky
Orchestra, The Polskadots and Motema their musical influences range from
deepest Africa to the Arctic circle.
