2009 Irish-African Community Gospel Choir Competition

The 2009 Gospel Choir competition was cancelled due to lack of sufficient funding. We hope to hold the next Choir Competition in 2010 however this will also only happen if we get our funding agreed in advance. The previous competitions have only been possible with funding provided by Cork City Council.

If you are involved with a choir that would like to be considered to compete at the next event please contact us now. Contact Us

The 2008 Irish-African Community Gospel Choir Competition was held (as always) at St Fin Barre's Cathedral Cork City with support from Cork City Council and as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival.

The 2008 winners were: The Redeemed Christian Church Of God (Kings Court Parish) from Blanchardstown (see picture below)

Also, check out our local acts on the Ireland Based Acts page and listen to their audio samples.

As you may have noticed we have teamed-up with Amazon to sell CDs, DVDs, Videos & books etc from this site. You will find the ads and links at the bottom of most of these pages and where possible the CD\DVD\Book is linked somehow to the artist or act featured on that page.
Looking around Amazon's catalogue I must say I was very surprised at how extensive and varied their catalogue is and how favourably their prices compare to ours in Europe and, of course, there is also a chance to buy second-hand copies too.
We are given a small percentage by Amazon for any products sold through these links, so it may help you to know that a small portion of the cash that you spend there will help us to organise even more shows around Ireland in the future.

Hope to catch up with you all on the circuit - Phil B
